Day 1-3: Blue Zebra (Luxury Safari Tents) – Nankoma Island, Lake Malawi

Welcome to Lilongwe, and Malawi – the warm heart of Africa! On arrival, a representative from Malawian Style will meet and greet you at the airport. You will be given the maps and information you need for your trip and directed to your first night’s accommodation: Blue Zebra.

The lodge offers 8 exclusive tented en-suite chalets each overlooking the lake with some of crystal clear waters.The chalets are set in an unspoiled environment and guests are surrounded by nature and luxury. Guest is free to chill at the infinity pool, kayak around the island or enjoy a game of volleyball as part of the board packages.

Boat transfer to Nankoma Island: 20 minutes

Day 3-6: Zomba Forest Lodge, Zomba Plateau

Enjoy your last morning at the Blue Zebra Lodge. You will be transferred back to the mainland on boat just after your breakfast and your journey heading to Zomba will begin. Your accommodation will be at the Zomba Forest Lodge in a stunning location on the Zomba Plateau.
This is an inviting, charming lodge with 4 rooms (2 twins and 2 doubles, all en-suite) boasting a colourful and lush garden to explore; a real treat to walk around and bird watch.

Day 6-9: Game Haven, Thyolo District

Today it is time to leave the beautiful Zomba Plateau and head to Thyolo. You will be accommodated at Game Haven. Arguably the most scenically beautiful region of Malawi, The Thyolo district forms the heart of Malawi’s tea producing region with rolling hills of immaculately cultivated, emerald green plantations and some of the
oldest estates in the country. Game Haven Lodge is set in serene and beautiful 500-acre Chimwemwe Game Park, located in one of the last remaining indigenous forests.

Day 9 – 11: Mvuu Camp, Liwonde National Park

Enjoy your last morning at Game Haven. Get ready to Leave the lodge just after your breakfast and start driving to your next destination – the Mvuu Camp in the Liwonde National Park. Mvuu Camp overlooks a broad stretch of the Shire River (pronounced Shiree), with a profusion of hippos, crocodiles and the amazing birdlife of the Liwonde National Park. An impressive thatched dining and lounge area is situated nearby, offering a magnificent vista of the Shire River.

Day 11-13: Annies Lodge, Cape Maclear

After your morning boat safari or game drive and breakfast, get ready to drive out of Liwonde National Park and head to Cape Maclear. You will be accommodated at Annie’s Lodge. Situated in Cape Maclear, Annie’s Lodge is an aparthotel with a restaurant, lounge and also has an outdoor pool free self – parking is free. Additionally, WiFi in public areas, a business centre, and dry cleaning are on site.

Annie’s Lodge: Full board. Drinks are on pay as you go basis.

About 222 km/ 4 hours from Liwonde.

Day 13-15: Mumbo Island, Cape Maclear

Today after breakfast you will have a boat transfer to Mumbo island where you will spend the last two nights on your tour. Mumbo Island is a pristine and deserted tropical island floating on the expansive waters of the Lake Malawi National Park. With a maze of massive underwater boulders, innumerable species of colourful cichlid fish and calm, clear water, the National Park offers what many consider to be the best freshwater snorkelling and SCUBA diving in the world. All tents are fully furnished with en-suite bathrooms.

Mumbo Island: Full board. Drinks are on pay as you go basis.

Boat transfer: 45 minutes from Cape Maclear.

Day 15: Departure, Lilongwe

All good things must come to an end, and today is the day you will be driving back to Lilongwe. You have a 4-hour drive ahead of you, before arriving at the airport where the car rental company will meet you to fetch your car.
