The lodge offers 8 exclusive tented en-suite chalets each overlooking the lake. The chalets are set in an unspoiled environment and guests are surrounded by nature and luxury. Guest is free to chill at the infinity pool, kayak around the island or enjoy a game of volleyball as part of the board packages.

Boat transfer to Nankoma Island: 30 minutes.

Today, you leave Blue Zebra Island and head to Majete to safari for a few days. You will be accommodated at Thawale. Thawale Lodge is a peaceful haven from which to experience Majete Wildlife Reserve, the only Game reserve in Malawi where the “the big five” can be viewed. Completely unfenced, the Lodge is regularly visited by wildlife.

Enjoy your last morning at Thawale. You will hit the road today and drive to Zomba. Your accommodation will be at the Zomba Forest Lodge in a stunning location on the Zomba Plateau.
This is an inviting, charming lodge with 4 rooms (2 twins and 2 doubles, all en-suite) boasting a colourful and lush garden to explore; a real treat to walk around and bird watch.

Enjoy your last morning in Zomba. Get ready to Leave the lodge just after your breakfast and start driving to your next destination – the Mvuu Camp in the Liwonde National Park. Mvuu Camp overlooks a broad stretch of the Shire River (pronounced Shiree), with a profusion of hippos, crocodiles and the amazing birdlife of the Liwonde National Park. An impressive thatched dining and lounge area is situated nearby, offering a magnificent vista of the Shire River.

About 98.5 km/ 2 hours 20 minutes from Zomba.

Today after breakfast you will have a boat transfer to Mumbo island where you will spend the last two nights on your tour. Mumbo Island is a pristine and deserted tropical island floating on the expansive waters of the Lake Malawi National Park. With a maze of massive underwater boulders, innumerable species of colourful cichlid fish and calm, clear water, the National Park offers what many consider to be the best freshwater snorkelling and SCUBA diving in the world. All tents are fully furnished with en-suite bathrooms.

The lodge, accessible by footbridge suspended over the Mkulumadzi River, comprises of eight spacious chalets, each with private viewing decks offering dramatic and unimpeded views over the confluence of two rivers, the Mkulumadzi and the Shire.

Today, you leave Majete and head to Satemwa Tea Estate where you will stay at Huntingdon House. Arguably the most scenically beautiful region of Malawi, The Thyolo district forms the heart of Malawi’s tea producing region with rolling hills of immaculately cultivated, emerald green plantations and some of the oldest estates in the country.

Huntingdon House was built in the 1920s and the estate has been in the Cathcart Kay family for generations, with members of the family still running the tea and coffee production of the estate. The grand old colonial style house is surrounded by magnificent gardens and beautiful old trees.

From the stunning Huntingdon House, get ready to drive to your next destination; the wonderful Kuthengo Camp in the Liwonde National Park.

On a large open plain on the banks of the Shire River in Liwonde National Park, Kuthengo Camp is idyllically nestled between yellow-tree acacia and baobab trees. African fish eagles nesting in the baobabs of the surrounding area will wake you to the ‘Call of Africa’ during your stay in this wild natural paradise. At 10:30 am your boat transfer will depart for the stunning Mumbo Island, which is approximately 45 minutes.

Mumbo Island is a deserted tropical island on the expansive waters of the Lake Malawi. With amazing underwater boulders, around 800 species of colorful cichlid fishes and placid, clear water, the National Park offers what many consider the best freshwater snorkelling and SCUBA diving in the world.
