Here you can partake in a range of activities from your classic game drives to the exciting game walks, tracking on foot to the gentle boating safaris. The Safaris on the river are a really great way to spend the day with some excellent birding and the chance to see the animals from a different angle up close. Each activity is an excellent opportunity to see the parks wildlife up close and personal and with some really great guides you are sure to see some truly exciting sightings.
The guides here are fantastic, from incredible birding experts to top trackers. Most of them have been based at Mvuu for years and so can tell you the parks incredible history from being on the brink of depletion from poaching to the success it is today with many species reintroduced and more on the way! Each guide is really friendly but also knowledgeable from being able to recognise birdcalls to knowing exactly where the cheetah cubs are hiding. They are some of the best in the industry (recognised with a few awards) and subsequently make the stay here worthwhile.
The food here is made by the same chef as the (higher-end) lodge so you know its going to be delicious. From incredible afternoon teas to some fresh and delicious lunches it seems the menus are endless despite being in the middle of nowhere. Their head chef, Wayne, is a creative genius and seems to create gourmet meals from limited ingredients. We really love the selection of food at lunch with tasty quiches, fresh and interesting salads to solid staples like burgers and lasagne. The 3 course dinners are always delicious and you can be sure you will leave here a little heavier than when you arrived!
