Chintheche Inn is situated on the Northern shores of Lake Malawi, beautiful beaches run along the shoreline. The lodge itself is laid back and relaxed and is an affordable family-friendly location. If you want to unwind and enjoy the views over the lake be sure to sit in one of the comfy sun loungers with a drink in hand and unwind. For those busy bees, there are a number of activities to enjoy too.

The Location is impressive, the white sand of the beaches and clear blue waters are so inviting. The views out onto the lake from your veranda are pretty amazing too. There is something here for the whole family and they have so many great activities to enjoy.

Feels like paradise

Chintheche Inn has a beautiful white sandy beach on the western side of Lake Malawi. Palm trees are scattered along the shore and the waters are crystal-clear. The grounds are large with beautiful well-kept gardens. For those less inclined to take a dip in the lake there is a large swimming pool right on the edge of the beach. There’s plenty of space at Chintheche Inn, sit back, relax and enjoy this lovely spot right on the lake shore. It is the perfect getaway for families and friends.

Intimate, Comfortable Rooms

There are 10 comfortable rooms, each with a view overlooking the beach, grounds and gardens. The bright rooms each have their own en-suite bathrooms that also look out onto the shoreline. The rooms either have twin or double beds, mosquito nets, a fan to keep you cool in the warmer months and the bed spreads add a splash of colour and brightness to the rooms. For those early risers you can enjoy a cup of tea on your private veranda in one of the comfortable deck chairs.

Keeping Busy

There are a variety of activities on offer at Chintheche, for the more adventurous there’s a number of water-based sports such as sailing and windsurfing. The snorkelling around the area is superb, home to a variety of beautiful fish. There are trails for hikes and mountain biking and you can even enjoy a spot of fishing. Enjoy a little Malawian culture with a trip to the fishing village and for those who wish to sit back and enjoy some birding there are over 100 species in the area. There really is something for everyone and you will have your days filled with a number of things to do and enjoy.

    This is an excellent place in Malawi. We arrived late after a long drive from Malawi and found the restaurant closed, but the staff made us sandwiches. and had personalized greeting cards on arrival :-)The views of Lake Malawi are fantastic and a provide good scenery for rest and relaxation.
    The restaurant was also good and we loved the attention to detail they had with each of the guests.

    Nice little resort on the shores of Lake Malawi. Only 10 rooms or something so very intimate feeling. Room facing beach and lake with mini terrace in front of your room. Bathrooms a bit outdated . Excellent food. Some nights served on the candlelit beach.

  • Breath taking views!!!

    This is one of the best destinations that i have ever gone to so far. I had a wonderful time staying at Chintenche… The view of the lake under the stars in the night was amazing! i enjoyed every bit and i look forward to going back very soon. I would suggest that you spend not less than 2 nights here so you can have a full experience.
