Welcome to Malawi! Your guide will meet you at Lilongwe International Airport and transfer you to our guesthouse in Lilongwe where you will be accommodated for the night before proceeding to South Luangwa.
The house has 6 staff to help cook, clean and look after you. Our home is well furnished and comfortable, with a pool, lovely garden, good social areas, modern kitchen, fast Wi-Fi and DSTV.
Nkonzi Camp is located deep in the heart of South Luangwa National Park. From the moment you walk out of your tent, you are on safari in one of Africa’s finest wildlife destinations.
Nkonzi Camp is perfectly positioned for stargazing too, with zero light pollution and panoramic views of the Milky Way that have to be seen to be believed.
As remote and unspoiled as Nkonzi Camp is, we are also very accessible. South Luangwa main gate is a 45-minute drive, and Mfuwe International Airport is approximately 1.5 hours from camp.
Following these few days tracking the incredible Zambian Wildlife, it is time to head back to Malawi. We will go via Tribal Textiles, here they produce unique hand-painted fabrics in the heart of the African bush, empowering the community. Once we have crossed the border we will proceed to Senga Bay, Salima. From Salima you will take a 20-minute boat ride to Blue Zebra Island Lodge. Here you will be able to enjoy stunning surroundings, crystal clear waters and embrace island life.
Kara O’Mula Country Lodge is located at a pristine site at the foot of Mulanje Mountain, about 65 kilometres from Blantyre City. The main building is a 1905 renovated former colonial house of the District Commissioner, where wonderful summer sunsets can be captured from the long veranda.
Facilities include 27 accommodation units, 20 of which are scattered around the lower mountain forest, and have breath-taking views of the great Mulanje Mountain, the surrounding tea estates, the Thyolo Highlands and mountains across the border in Mozambique. Our busy restaurant is in “old” building, next to the main bar. The bar itself has large windows so guests can enjoy the view around.
From Mulanje it is time to head to the stunning Zomba Plateau, you will be accommodated at Zomba Forest Lodge for the next two nights. This is an inviting, charming lodge with 4 rooms (2 twins and 2 doubles, all en-suite) boasting a colourful and lush garden to explore; a real treat to walk around and bird watch.
You will spend the next two nights at Mvuu Camp situated right inside Liwonde National Park. Mvuu Camp overlooks a broad stretch of the Shire River, with a profusion of hippos, crocodiles and the amazing birdlife of Liwonde National Park. An impressive thatched dining and lounge area is situated nearby, offering a magnificent vista of the Shire River.
Your final two days with us will be spent on Domwe Island. Your Malawian Style guide will transfer you to Kayak Africa where you will have a 45 minutes boat transfer to Domwe Island.
Domwe Island Adventure Camp is basic yet exclusive. It lies behind a small beach on the island’s west side. From solar lighting to dry compost toilets Domwe aims to be as eco-friendly as possible, so during your stay here you will be living authentically alongside nature.
After breakfast, your Malawian Style guide will meet you back at Kayak Africa and transfer you to the airport to catch your flight home.

Upon arrival at the Lilongwe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your Malawian Style guide. After greetings, we will transfer you to Kumbali Country Lodge in Lilongwe for a night.
Kumbali Country Lodge is a private lodge, situated on a 650-hectare forest reserve and dairy farm land, only 10 minutes from the capital city, Lilongwe, along a quiet traffic-free road. The accommodation is stylish, relaxed and comfortable; it is much more than just another Lilongwe hotel.
Zikomo Safari Camp is in Zambia, across the river from South Luangwa National Park. It is set amidst an ancient valley filled with diverse African wildlife. This peaceful eco-hotel in the African bush offers spacious accommodations: comfortable handcrafted chalets. A central main camp area offers a fine restaurant, bar and gathering place overlooking the swimming pool and the sprawling flood plains of the tranquil hippo filled Luangwa River.

It is now time to drive to Liwonde National Park. You will spend the next two nights at Mvuu Camp situated right inside the National Park.
An impressive thatched dining and lounge area is situated nearby, offering a magnificent vista of the Shire River. Here you can gaze at the magnificent birdlife soaring along the river and spot the crocs and hippos that call Liwonde home.
After breakfast, it is time to drive to your next piece of paradise on Lake Malawi. Arriving at Cape Maclear you will drive straight to Kayak Africa receptionyou’re your 10:30 am boat transfer, from there you can take the 45-minute boat journey to the island or kayak along the 10km stretch of crystal-clear waters.
With a maze of massive underwater boulders, innumerable species of colourful cichlid fish and calm, clear water, the National Park offers what many consider the best freshwater snorkelling and scuba diving in the world.
After two nights on Mumbo Island it is time to return to the mainland and spend your final night at Annie’s Lodge.
Annie’s is located on the beach front and provides great accommodation as well as a pool and gym facilities.
From there you will meet your guide and drive straight to Lilongwe International Airport to catch your flight back home.

This stylish boutique hotel will be a welcome surprise for business travellers and holidaymakers alike. The hotel boasts the finest restaurant in Lilongwe with an exceptional wine collection.
Today we head for Kafunta River Lodge in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. South Luangwa National Park is known to be one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world: 60 different animal species and over 450 bird species living in a pristine environment.
Kafunta is a classic Zambian safari lodge where you will find the rest and peace you need after an exciting day of game viewing. At Kafunta each of the luxury private chalets and the main lounge/dining area has fantastic views of the game rich flood plain.
Leaving the bush behind we head back to Malawi for Nankoma Island. Here you will stay at Blue Zebra Lodge.
The chalets are set in an unspoiled environment and guests are surrounded by nature and luxury. You are free to chill at the infinity pool, kayak around the islands or enjoy a game of volleyball as part of the full board package. The lodge also offers free use of snorkelling equipment to view the unique colourful fish that give the lodge its name and inhabit every inch of the coastline.
Today we journey to the beautiful Satemwa Tea Estates, arguably the most scenically beautiful region of Malawi.
The next three nights will be spent at Huntingdon House. Huntingdon House was built in the 1920’s and the estate has been in the Cathcart Kay family for generations, with members of the family still running the tea and coffee production of the estate. The grand old colonial style house is surrounded by magnificent gardens and beautiful old trees. There are several activities such as hiking and biking, there are also lighter activities that can be arranged such as scenic walks, croquet on the lawn and tea tasting.
Back on safari today, you will head to Majete Wildlife Reserve. The lodge, set on the confluence of the two rivers, the Shire and Mkulumadzi, is accessible by footbridge suspended over the Mkulumadzi River. It comprises of eight spacious chalets, each with private viewing decks offering dramatic and unimpeded views over the Shire River. The main lodge is an open-fronted space maximizing the beautiful river views and taking advantage of some cool shade on the forested banks. Activities range from swimming in the pool and dining under the stars, to river cruises, game-drives and walking safaris. You can even spend a night under the stars on their fully equipped star deck, complete with comfortable double bed, bedside tables and mosquito net.
As Majete is a Big 5 reserve, there is an abundance of wildlife including the rare black rhino, lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, nyala, sable, eland and Lichtenstein’s hartebeest. Numerous species of birds grace Majete, including Rock Prancole, Pel’s Fishing Owl and more.
Time for some more wildlife viewing, this time we head to the beautiful Liwonde National Park.
The lodge nestles discreetly in a quiet lagoon just off the shire river with the main lounge area set above the water to make the most of the exceptional birdlife and resident hippos. Liwonde provides an excellent diversity of animals including lion, cheetah, black rhino, elephant, sable antelope, eland, zebra, impala and waterbuck. Activities at Mvuu Lodge revolve around boating trips on the Shire River and game drives (morning and afternoon/evening). Nature walks and bike rides are also incredibly popular, and not forgetting rhino tracking!
Today we drive to Mumbo Island. A beautiful island just off Cape Maclear. You will be transferred to Mumbo by boat, which takes approxiamtely 45 minutes. Alternatively, if you are feeling strong, you can kayak to the island!
The accommodation is wonderfully curated. Each room suspended over the lake with private decks is the perfect spot to watch the sun go down.
It is time to transfer from Mumbo to another wonderful location in Cape Maclear.
Set on a private beach, Pumulani is an exclusive beach lodge within Lake Malawi National Park. The lodge has ten individually-designed villas spread out along a lush hillside overlooking the lake. Each villa boasts a large bedroom, a spacious living area and a private deck with lake view. Guests can relax on the sandy beach or at one of the two stylish infinity pools. For those seeking activity, there is waterskiing, sailing, diving, wakeboarding, kayaking, snorkelling, fishing and bird watching. Included is also a sunset or breakfast cruise on their locally hand-crafted wooden dhow.

Welcome to Zambia! A Malawian Style representative will meet you at Mfuwe airstrip and transfer you to your accommodation in the heart of the bush, Chinzombo!
