Welcome to Zambia! After flying into Lusaka you will board a flight to Livingstone Airport, once you arrive in Livingstone you will be greeted by a Victoria Falls Hotel guide who will transfer you to the hotel.

The historic Victoria Falls Hotel overlooks the Victoria Falls bridge and the gorges below. Situated in acres of private garden, the charm and tranquil atmosphere of the hotel has earned international acclaim. During your stay, you may decide to partake in activities such as a helicopter flight over the falls, canoeing down the Zambezi River, or if you are feeling really brave, a bungee jump from Vic Falls bridge.

After breakfast at the Victoria Falls Hotel, you will be transferred to Livingstone to catch your flight to Lusaka and then onto the Royal Airstrip ahead of your next destination… Potato Bush Camp

With a stunning panoramic view overlooking the Zambezi River and escarpment, this site is nestled under Mahogany, Sausage, Winter Thorn and Acacia Tortillas trees, which provide excellent shade. Potato Bush Camp is comprised of three well-appointed Canvas and Rosewood safari tents and also a 2-bedroom family tent.

It is time to take flight once again, next stop Mfuwe Airport via Lusaka Airport. A Malawian Style guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to Robin’s House, South Luangwa National Park. Robin’s house is a small, private and exclusive house on the banks of the Luangwa River, ideal for young families. With its own team of staff dedicated to looking after you Robin’s House offers a home away from home but with added luxuries.

During your stay in South Luangwa you’ll be able to partake in 2 safari activities per day you can choose between a game drive or walking safari, both offering a fantastic opportunity to get closer to nature.

It’s time to leave the bush and head for the beach! Your Malawian Style guide will drive you to Salima, it’s approximately a 7-hour drive from South Luangwa. From Salima, there is a boat transfer to the island which takes about 20 minutes. Blue Zebra Island Lodge is tucked away on Nankoma Island, a part of the Marelli Island archipelago. During your time on the island, you will be able to enjoy drinks by the pool, soak in the sun on the beach, snorkel and discover the Blue Zebra Cichlids, and even play badminton or volleyball. The Island is renowned for its dazzling array of birdlife, you will find yourself on an unspoilt island paradise, surrounded by nature and luxury.

Your guide will transfer you to Cape Maclear – which is about a 2-hr drive – in time for your afternoon boat transfer to the island. Mumbo is based 10 km off the Cape Maclear peninsula and takes 45 minutes by boat, or if you are feeling like an athlete feel free to kayak out to the island, which should take about 2 hrs. Enjoy the next 3 days in paradise, make the most of the incredible snorkeling, crystal clear waters, fascinating bird life, diverse flora and fauna, semi-challenging walks and stunning sunsets. Make sure to hike up to Pod Rock for a sun-downer.

All good things must come to an end and today after breakfast your Malawian Style guide will drive you straight from Cape Maclear to Lilongwe International Airport for your flight back home.

The Doghouse team will transfer you to Lusaka to catch your flight to Livingstone, where you will be met and taken to your destination for the next 4 nights; the Doghouse in Tongabezi. Here you will be swept off into another world that is navigated via elevated walkways surrounded by nature. The clear turquoise water is perfect for a spot of snorkelling among the hundreds of coloured cichlids. After breakfast it’s time to say goodbye to island life, until next time. Your guide will take you to the airport at Likoma island for your flight back to Lilongwe and your onward journey… hopefully all complete with memories of a truly unforgettable family holiday.
