Welcome to Malawi! Your guide will meet you at Lilongwe International Airport and transfer you to our guesthouse in Lilongwe where you will be accommodated for the night before proceeding to South Luangwa.
The house has 6 staff to help cook, clean and look after you. Our home is well furnished and comfortable, with a pool, lovely garden, good social areas, modern kitchen, fast Wi-Fi and DSTV.
After a night in Lilongwe, it is now time to head to South Luangwa National Park. You will be transferred by road to Croc Valley Camp.
Croc Valley Camp is set on the banks of the picturesque South Luangwa River. Set in the riverine forest, the camp is designed to be deliberately inconspicuous so as to retain the natural beauty of the surroundings and encourage wildlife to roam freely. An abundance of wildlife such as elephants, monkeys, hippos and a wide variety of antelope often pass through the camp and can be seen most days from the safety of our shaded rondavels, the bar, restaurant, chalets and tents.
On arrival at the camp you will have some time to appreciate your new home in the bush for the next few days. In the evening enjoy dinner at the tented camp restaurant overlooking the Luangwa River, watching elephants cross at dusk, and relax over a drink before retiring for the evening.
After these few days tracking the incredible Zambian wildlife, it is time to head back to Malawi. We will go via Tribal Textiles, here they produce unique hand-painted fabrics in the heart of the African bush, empowering the community. Once we have crossed the border we will proceed to Senga Bay, Salima. From Salima you will take a 20-minute boat ride to Blue Zebra Island Lodge. Here you will be able to enjoy stunning surroundings, crystal clear waters and embrace island life.
It offers 8 exclusive tented en suite chalets each overlooking the lake with crystal clear waters. The chalets are set in an unspoiled environment and guests are surrounded by nature and luxury. Guests are free to chill at the infinity pool, kayak around the islands or enjoy a game of volleyball as part of the full board package. The lodge also offers free use of snorkelling equipment to view the unique colourful fish that gave the lodge its name and that inhabit every inch of the coastline.
After spending the last two nights at the lake, it is now time to head to the beautiful Mulanje Mountain where you will have the opportunity to climb the highest peak in southern central Africa.
The hike is a slow but challenging 5 hours walk with several stunning waterfalls and rock pools along the way.
While hiking, you will enjoy the beautiful surroundings and stunning views with time to swim in waterfalls and rock pools en route.
Enjoy your last morning descending Mulanje Massif and then it is time to head to Zomba Plateau. We will drive straight to the Zomba Forest Lodge in the stunning location of Zomba Plateau, and will arrive in time for a late lunch.
This is an inviting, charming lodge with 4 rooms (2 twins and 2 doubles, all en-suite) boasting a colourful and lush garden to explore; a real treat to walk around and bird watch.
It is now time to drive to Liwonde National Park. You will spend the next two nights at Mvuu Camp situated right inside the national park.
Mvuu Camp overlooks a broad stretch of the Shire River (pronounced ‘Shiree’), with a profusion of hippos, crocodiles and the amazing birdlife of the Liwonde National Park. An impressive thatched dining and lounge area is situated nearby, offering a magnificent vista of the Shire River. Dinners are sometimes held under the stars in a specially constructed boma. Activities at Mvuu Camp revolve around boating trips on the Shire River and game drives (morning and afternoon/evening). Nature walks and bike rides are also incredibly popular.
After breakfast, it is now time to drive to your next piece of paradise on the Lake Malawi. Arriving in Cape Maclear, you will drive straight to Kayak Africa reception before your boat transfer at 10:30 am, from there you will either kayak out or boat ride to Domwe Island which is a 45 minutes trip.
Domwe Island is the largest unpopulated island in Lake Malawi, with a circumference of 11km and at its highest point, 400m above lake level. Domwe Island Adventure Camp is basic yet exclusive. It lies behind a small beach on the island’s west side. From solar lighting to dry compost toilets Domwe aims to be as eco-friendly as possible, so during your stay here you will be living authentically alongside nature.
All good things come to an end, and so does this trip. From Domwe you will get the boat back to Cape Maclear, and we will drive you straight to Lilongwe International Airport to catch your flight back home. End of Tour.

Welcome to Malawi, the warm heart of Africa! Upon arrival at the Lilongwe International Airport, your Malawian Style guide will welcome you and after greetings we will drive straight to Kumbali Country Lodge for a night before proceeding to South Luangwa National Park.
Kumbali Country Lodge is a private lodge, situated on a 650 hectare forest reserve and dairy farm land. Only 10 minutes from the capital city, Lilongwe, along a quiet traffic-free road. The accommodation is stylish, relaxed and informal; it is much more than just another Lilongwe hotel and a perfect area for scenic walks and bike rides.
After a night at Kumbali country Lodge, it is now time to head to South Luangwa National Park. You will be transferred by road to Wildlife Camp.
Wildlife Camp is a safari camp on the banks of the Luangwa National park Zambia. The guests are provided with an affordable front – row seat to one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in Africa. At the camp there is rustic en-suite chalets, a secluded en-suite tented camp, a bush camp for overnight walking safari and a stunning campsite, all situated on the banks of the Luangwa.

Mumbo Island is a pristine and deserted tropical island floating on the expansive waters of the Lake Malawi National Park. With a maze of massive underwater boulders, innumerable species of colorful cichlid fish and calm, clear water, the National Park offers what many consider the best freshwater snorkeling and SCUBA diving in the world.
All good things come to an end, and so does this trip. From Mumbo Island you will catch the boat back to Cape Maclear, where we will meet you and drive you straight to Lilongwe International Airport to catch your flight back home. Today after breakfast, we will head towards the Mchinji border, crossing into Zambia we drive straight to Kafunta River Lodge in South Luangwa. South Luangwa National Park is known to be one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world: 60 different animal species and over 450 bird species living in a natural and pristine environment.
Kafunta is a classic Zambian safari lodge where you will find the rest and peace you need after an exciting day of game drives with their highly knowledgeable guides. At Kafunta each of the luxury private chalets and the main lounge/dining area has fantastic views of the game rich flood plain. Next to the bar reside the pool and a natural hot spring. This unique hot tub is fed from a completely natural geothermal source on Kafunta’s grounds. Here you can enjoy pure relaxation while being presented with magnificent views over the flood plain and the Luangwa River.

Early morning breakfast; prepare to have a boat transfer to Senga Bay, upon arrival in Senga Bay you will be met by your Malawian Style guide and the journey to Mulanje begins where you will be staying at Lujeri Lodge.
You planned hike here is a slow but challenging 5 hours walk with several stunning waterfalls and rock pools to enjoy along the way.
Today you will leave the Mulanje district and head to the beautiful Zomba Plateau. Your accommodation will be at the Sunbird Ku Chawe Hotel. Rising 1800 meter, Zomba is a beautiful location to go biking, horse riding or just relaxing and enjoying pleasant walks through the forest, beside streams or across open grassland. Due to the higher altitude, the plateau often feels pleasantly cool compared to other parts of the country. At Zomba Plateau, you will also have the chance to see many different birds.
It’s now time to return to the bush. Your Malawian Style guide will drive you to Mvuu Lodge in Liwonde National Park.
Mvuu Lodge overlooks the Shire River. With a profusion of hippos (Mvuu means hippo in the local language, Chichewa), crocodile and amazing birdlife you can pass your time observing the wildlife by the river who rely on it as a life source, before embarking on your game viewing activities. Activities offered include morning and afternoon/evening game drives, river cruises, walking safaris, bird watching, star gazing and more.
The lodge is of top quality with luxurious safari tents overlooking the lagoon, the food is exceptional and the package includes all your activities.
After breakfast, it is time to drive to your next piece of paradise on Lake Malawi. Arriving at Cape Maclear you will drive straight to Kayak Africa receptionyou’re your 10:30 am boat transfer, from there you can take the 45-minute boat journey to the island or kayak along the 10km stretch of crystal-clear waters.
With a maze of massive underwater boulders, innumerable species of colourful cichlid fish and calm, clear water, the National Park offers what many consider the best freshwater snorkelling and scuba diving in the world.
All good things must come to an end and today after breakfast we will drive back to Lilongwe International Airport for your flight back home.
