What a wonderful holiday with Malawian Style. Excellent itinerary, amazing lodges and really knowledgeable guides and drivers. A great introduction to Malawi for my parents, and an incredible way to spend a family Christmas. Mike goes out of his way to make sure you have a great trip, and not having to worry about finding fuel in the middle of a fuel crisis was such a relief! If you want to see Malawi, Malawian style is the way to go!

"Thanks a lot for this wonderful vacation!

We saw so many nice places and did so many great activities on our "Best of Malawi and Zambia" tour – it was really amazing! ... and much more than I got have done organizing everything by myself.
Plus I had enough time to relax and chill out - it was really a perfect combination of "everything"!"

Our Mulanje trip….More than a trip …. an adventure! Exciting, exhilarating and hard work at times…during the four days our group of six spent discovering the Eastern part of beautiful Malawi Mulanje, spending three nights, each in a different mountain hut ..… I think I will never forget the deep feeling of relief and liberation felt, at the end of each day, when my husband and I “immersed” our exhausted muscles in the pristine mountain pools….. lost between rocks and shrubs …. We truly fulfilled our dream to feel a communion with the Mountain’s pure and harsh beauty during the day…. ending, every day, with an evening meal fully cooked, always different, and ..served with a bottle of wine shared around the fireplace, followed by friendly chats under starry skies… We will always remember the dedicated and selfless whole team with impeccable logistics, being to transport our bags (and pillows !!), carry all the prepared food and the cooler boxes in narrow climbing (and descending) paths, setting the fires and sleeping quarters at night… and waking us up with the smell of frying bacon ...

Bravo Mulanje “malawianstyle” !!!

Having never been on an organised tour before, I didn't know what to expect from Malawian Style. After 3 weeks on the Zambia and Malawi tour however, my expectations of organised tours is now very high. The trip was sensational and I would absolutely recommend Malawian Style to anyone wishing to travel to Malawi or its neighbouring countries. Mike's tour was extremely well organised, and our guide Eddie was cheerful and had extensive knowledge of all aspects of Malawi. Thanks for a fantastic holiday!

“My wife and I chose Malawian Style for our Honeymoon after it was recommended by a close friend of ours. Due to our wedding planning we didn’t have much time to plan our Honeymoon, so we contacted Mike to tell him roughly what we were looking for and left the rest to him. He planned a great itinerary for us with a mix of safari, physical activity and relaxation and really went out of his way to make sure we had a great time

We couldn’t have come close to organising such a good trip if we had tried to do it ourselves; and the quality of some of the accommodation and activities far exceeded our expectations considering the reasonable price of the package.

We absolutely loved our first ever visit to Africa, and would highly recommend Malawian Style to anyone. We can’t wait to go back soon and see some more of what Africa has to offer, and we will definitely use Mike again - thanks Malawian Style for an unforgettable trip!!”

Cheers!

Phil

We had a FANTASTIC trip with our school group in Liwonde. The camping experience in Liwonde was the perfect finale. Mvuu was good & the River boat & Game drive were both great experiences. There is no doubt that we will be keen to repeat this with our future teams. Jeff, one of our student leaders was to fly from Lilongwe & Malawian Style took him there & let him stay with them! A really nice gesture & very much appreciated. Thanks again for everything.

Malawian style. Our trip to Malawi consisted of three nights in south luangwa, a night in zomba, two nights on mulanje a night in a cottage at the bottom of mulanje and five nights at the lake. We asked Malawian style to put together an itinary for us that showed a wide range of Malawi and the above was what they suggested. It was perfect for us. Malawian style cater for different budgets and can match the accommodation according to your needs. It was great to have a tour that wasn't to a set timetable like most tours. When there was no need to be somewhere urgently then we could chose what time we had breakfast and would leave. All food and drink was included except alcohol and we were able to keep a tab of our drinks and extra activities and settle this at the end. The food was great and they even managed to cater for those who were very fussy eaters. Malawian style couldn't do enough for us on our trip and they even coped very well with the more demanding and difficult people in our trip. I would definately recommend Malawian style to anyone who was looking to travel in this area. They were a pleasure to travel with and made our trip completely worthwhile. Nicole Hughes, England Chat to you soon!

“We are just back from a wonderful time in South Luangwa. The trip was a real great experience, we really enjoyed it, the game drives, the accommodation and the great tour guides. Sheldon and Lynda took real good care of us, were relaxed and much fun. We really appreciated Malawian Style giving us a lift from BT to LL and the stay at your house the night before departure - we realize you don’t do this for all clients but we really appreciated it - thanks so much for this special service! A really fun group of people with good service that guarantees a good holiday. Margreet, Marluce and Natalie”

We knew immediately that we were in competent hands after contacting Mike of Malawian Style. Quick on response and good ideas, he put together an ‘Active Malawi’ Adventure which did not disappoint. From a trek up Mount Mulanje to snorkelling in a tropical aquarium and kayaking to Robinson Crusoe islands, Malawi has soo much to offer the adventurous traveller. Mike’s organisational skills were top-notch and he went out of his way to accommodate our penchants...including relatives with FOMO!! We were truly touched by the people’s kindness and hard-working ethos...and we certainly look forward to sending clients to this warm heart of Africa...where we know they’ll be in good hands. Good Luck Mike – I have no doubt, Malawian Style will grow from strength to strength. Love the website too – very slick! Sarah Drew Active Escapes: www.active-escapes.co.za

“Malawian Style is the perfect option if, like us you don't have the time or inclination for the overland truck scene, but the honeymoon-type package holiday isn't for you either. With Mike's friendly and flexible tour it felt as if we saw a lot of what Malawi has to offer in the relatively short time we had available, without the sense of being too hectic. We really couldn't have asked for a better mix of activities, sightseeing and relaxation. Thanks Malawian Style - we hope to join another tour one day, and we are definitely recommending it to our friends!” Helen Lewis, UK

Anyone reading this page deciding whether to book with Malawian style, just do it, you won't be disappointed. Mike went out of his way to customize a 3 week tour around east Africa for me. We fit in game drives in Zambia, nature walks, an awesome lake weekend and other sight seeing in Malawi, along with fishing and diving in Mozambique. I now have photos and memories to last a lifetime. Absolutely amazing, and all for the right price. Can't thank Mike enough, but hopefully this post goes some way towards it!

I spent a weekend at Cape Maclear with Malawian Style in August and I had an amazing time. Stunning place, nice accommodation, delicious food, and a very professional and engaged tour guide. It was my first visit to Malawi and I completely fell in love with the country and have already been back for a second visit at the Lake of Stars festival and to climb Mount Mulanje. I highly recommend Malawian Style whether you are looking for game drives, mountain trips, exploring Lake Malawi or all of the above. Martine Roberts

Benjamin Striem: Mrs.Sarina and Mr.Benjamin Striem

Dear Mike,

We wanted to thank you for the wonderful trip we had with you in Malawi – real Malawian style – places, people, meals, lodging and most important your personal attention.

First the trip to the Crocs Valley in Zambia: A camp on the river bank, safari in the morning, elephant’s visiting the camp at noon and night safari. Seeing lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras and gazelles, all at close range.

Then visiting the Mulanje mountain: the unbelievable cottage and staff, the mountain, springs and the tea fields. We loved the stay in the cottage in Zomba – a real treat – we wished we could stay longer.

The week on the lake was a life time experience: for a week we were in T shirt and shorts, on the boat, in the water or on the beach, feeling free. The “sunset cruise” was also remarkable: feeding fish eagles, watching the sun set in the beyond the mountains.

Yours

Sarina and Benjamin Striem

If you would like to have memories of landscapes , sunrises and sunsets that you will remember forever, and meet some of the kindest and most attractive people in Africa book yourself on a Malawian Styles Tour.

I was fortunate to experience the Lake of Stars tour this October.Such a varied itinerary . That's what makes this operator special- all the perks he can offer. Private car and your own boat. Private staffed cottages with amazing cooks.

Your own beach , a exciting 3 day Mt Mulange climb, a night in Liwonde Park surrounded by grazing elephants, and fishing and swimming in one of the most beautiful settings in the world. Plus some of the best game viewing Africa has to offer at South Luangwa.

This has been my third visit to Africa, and I can not wait to return!
