Lake Malawi is the 3rd largest and deepest lake in Africa, 11th biggest lake in the world and by far the most beautiful. This tropical paradise boasts crystal clear waters, untouched remote islands and stunning beaches, it really is a fantastic place to relax and get away from it all. What better way to see the best of this beautiful lake than cruising around on this magnificent 38’ full live-aboard catamaran “Mufasa”.
Mufasa is a 10 berth, 38 foot Maxim catamaran, designed by Alexander Simonis. Mufasa is the only live-aboard catamaran on Lake Malawi. Fully crewed with skipper, deck hand and chef ensures you will sail in comfort, luxury and style. Layout comprises 4 cabins with queen sized beds and 2 single cabins, 2 bathrooms and an outside hot water shower, galley, saloon and cockpit under shade. The yacht is fully equipped for cruising, has category 1 blue water safety equipment. Fishing tackle, masks and snorkels are on board and available for guests use. Scuba diving equipment is available by request for diving charters.
Danforth Lodge is a stylish lodge in the heart of Cape Maclear set right in front of Thumbi Island. There is exceptional cuisine on offer, with activities such as water skiing, knee boarding, wake boarding, mountain biking, Hobie-cat sailing, nature walks, table tennis, trampoline and pool table. The lodge has an infinity swimming pool and superb views over the lake to the islands.

Day 1: Danforth Lodge - Arrive Lilongwe. Road transfer to Senga Bay (1 ¼ hours on good roads) Yacht will be moored ready for guests arrival. Go on board and sail across to Cape Maclear (3 hours). Arrive at Danforth yachting Lodge. Check into your spacious, well appointed rooms overlooking the lake on a Full Board basis.

Day 2 - 3: Danforth Lodge - Enjoy all Danforth Yachting has to offer in the stunning Cape Maclear. Magnificent setting and opportunity to be as active or as relaxed as you choose. A variety of water sports and activities are all available on site. Willing instructors and helpful staff will assist you if you’d like to learn how to water ski, tube ride or wakeboard. Take a boat ride out to the islands for incredible snorkeling or scuba diving to view the colorful tropical fish. Listen to the cry of the fish eagle whilst you enjoy top cuisine and watch wonderful sunsets from the beachside thatched gazebo at Danforth Lodge.

Day 4: Chiofu Bay - After breakfast, load the yacht “Mufasa” ready for 3 nights on board. Sail north from Cape Maclear to Chiofu Bay, a lovely secluded bay 5 hours sail away. Good snorkeling, diving and fishing. Go on shore and enjoy a beach barbeque under the African stars. Overnight on Mufasa at anchor in the bay.

Day 5: Likoma island - Mid morning, set sail north and head on to your destination of Likoma Island. Enjoy lunch and dinner whilst sailing. Arrive after dark and anchor down in the shelter of Ilala bay. Overnight on the yacht.

Day 6: Likoma island - Explore Likoma Island. Visit the magnificent St.Paul’s cathedral, take a walk through the cobbled market square, and enjoy the sights and sounds of this African island. Swim, scuba dive, snorkel, sail around the island. Overnight on the yacht.

Day 7: Chisimulu island - Sail to the neighboring Chisimulu Island. Anchor down in a scenic cove. Take a walk all the way around this quaint island. Enjoy a drink at the backpackers bar. Overnight on board Mufasa.
Day 8: Makuzi Beach Lodge - From Chisimulu Island, sail back to the mainland of Malawi. Arrive at Makuzi Beach Lodge at Bandawe point, near the Chinteche area. Bid the yacht farewell. Overnight at Makuzi Beach lodge.

Day 9: Kumbali Country Lodge - Transfer by road from Makuzi to Lilongwe. Overnight at Kumbali Country Lodge, a beautiful lodge situated on a dairy farm on the outskirts of Lilongwe.

Day 10: Adios Amigos - Transfer by road to Lilongwe International airport.
