5 day Luwawa Mountain Wilderness Trail (USD 600 per person)

Day 1: Leave Lilongwe around 9am and head for stunning Luwawa forest Lodge, where we will be based in chalet accommodation and on Full Board Basis. We should be there for lunch and have afternoon to explore and enjoy the many activities on offer...

Day 2 - 4: The Luwawa Wilderness trail takes the walker from Luwawa Forest Lodge to Chinteche over a 3 day period covering a distance of 70km. Campsites for the 2 nights en route are located in areas of natural beauty and are close to a safe natural water supply. The route of the trail descends the African rift lake escarpment, providing amazing panoramic views, and roughly follows a ridge line over Kawandama Mountain (1954m). It continues on small poachers paths down the escarpment, passing through pristine indigenous forest and remote habitations to finish near to Kande Beach resort on the shores of Lake Malawi.

Day 4: We will arrive at Kande beach and have the rest of the day to enjoy this beautiful spot.

Day 5: After breakfast we will head back to Lilongwe, arriving mid afternoon.
